Christ Church Blackfriars is a small Anglican Parish Church and community hall located at the south of the Blackfriars Bridge area at Southbank!
As a church, we seek to draw specifically on the Christian contemplative tradition with a focus on Christian spirituality and prayer. We seek to be a hub promoting wellbeing, openness, inclusion, generosity and to be rooted in the Christian tradition.
Our focus is to live a rhythm of life focused on prayer and action in following the way of God.
For families we have a regular Sunday morning family service at 10am with Sunday school and once a monthly storytelling and Godly Play to open up Christian spirituality through creativity. Every Sunday and during the weekdays (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) we have a rhythm or prayer and meditation for those in and outside of the church – Find out more about this at www.ccblackfriars.org!
In addition we also have a new spiritual community for those who want to explore monastic and contemplative Christian spirituality more deeply! This occurs on Wednesdays and Sunday evenings, with a rhythm of prayer and action seeking to be a dispersed Christian community, where Christchurch is the mother house.
Whether you consider yourself a Christian wanting to go deeper into spirituality, or someone on a non-religious spiritual journey seeking a spiritual community to develop your meditation practice – All are welcome to come and join us!
